Whats gold and whats yellow?

Well Ive heard black and yellow for the past few weeks now in reference to the Steelers so I dont think they are calling themselves "black and gold". As for the reasoning? Gold sounds much better than yellow. I guess thats why the redskins say burgundy rather than maroon or red?
